Well what can I say! It's been a long time but God has truly blessed me in so many ways. I had an amazing opportunity to run after God's heart and grow a lot closer to him. While my heart grew closer to his he gave me an amazing gift. He gave me an amazing man of God who truly loves me for me. It's hard for me to put into words how amazing he is to me. I can't express how thankful I am to God for sending me this amazing, loving,giving, God seeking, sexy (AMEN), and genuine MAN!!

Most of you know that I have been through a lot in the love department. I can write a book or two! LOL! I just might one day! But, I am a true believer of the scripture on my page. God has such a big plan for you and it's NEVER to harm you. It's always to give you a great hope and future. I could preach for days about God's love and mercy. How he allows you to experience things to develop you for something so much better than where you are. Michael David Pitts I love you and can't wait to see what God has in store for our lives!! Man, I can't believe I haven't blogged in so long!! Of course my life is full of traveling, relaxing, the pool, and VOLLEYBALL!! My summer has been go go go and I'm headed on my last trip on Sat. Volleyball starts so soon and I'm about to knock on 30's door. I can truly say this is a great time in life. I'm so happy and just enjoying every minute of it! God is so good to me! I'm reading this new book called a Praying Life by Paul E. Miller. Man my eyes are opened already. Do you often find yourself restless in prayer? Distracted by your to do list? This book is for you! That's exactly how it caught my eye. My friend Amy was telling me about how she read it and it changed her perspective of prayer. I knew my prayer life needed work too so I bought the book.

So I just read how important it is to Pray like a child. He referenced in the bible how often Jesus wants us to come before him like children. One part that really hit me is come to him messy. I know as Christians we believe that God call's people to him in the middle of their mess. He doesn't want you to get clean then get saved. He seeks you where you are.
Well, I feel like we forget that when we become a Christian. He doesn't want us to get everything together then pray. The bible says "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laded, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28. Thank God he doesn't say come who all have it together and are perfect at this prayer thing. God wants us as we are and where we are. He's like a parent excited about our every accomplishment even if it's delayed.

I hope this encourages you to come to God as you are and not wait to have everything figured out before you seek him. He's so cool like that!! Be encouraged!

God's LOVE

I'm so thankful for God's love toward me. Have you ever just thought about how amazing he is and how much he cares for us. When we don't understand what he's doing in our lives we always seem to end up at this point where we look back and just thank him so much for doing what he did. I'm can't express enough how blessed I am to call him my savior, my father, and my Lord.

He makes my life complete. Not only does he bless me with so many things but he also teaches me how to love and be more like him. Thank you so much God for your lessons! I just pray that people that I know just find him. That's the coolest part he loves you just as much! I pray that if you read this that God's presence is in your midst where you can't shake it. He's always seeking us. Wow!! He's always seeking us!! We all want to be pursued and we have a savior who continues to pursue us even when we have turned him down. I pray that you feel and understand God's love toward you. When you think everything doesn't make sense know he's working! Know that he has a plan for your life. Trust him!! Believe me I know it's easier to type than to do but man he's never failed me yet! Trust him!!

Hey everyone I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is enjoying their families like I am. I am so blessed to have such a loving family. I'm so THANKFUL!!

So here is the update:

Just celebrated Naomi's birthday! She turned 2 and it was a great party at Bounce U. I forgot that I was 29 and jumped around for an hour. She is so beautiful and smart. She carries on conversations with us and she understands so much. I know I sound like she's mine. I'm just so lucky to have a best friend named Jen who lets me be apart of that child's life.

Next, I had the pleasure to experience my Dad's ordination service in Asheville. He was ordained on Dec. 13th. It was a great service and a great reminder of how big God is! My Dad is a true man of God and I'm so thankful that he set a great spiritual foundation for me and my siblings. I got to hang with my nephew who has gotten so big. I miss lots being in Greensboro! So the last update is that we had a big snow in Greensboro. Of course very exciting to miss a little school and play in the snow. Jen and Na got stuck at my house and we hung out and then played in the snow. Life is good right now! I'm enjoying my break so far with family and headed to Arkansas for 4 days with friends for New Years. Life has definitely changed drastically in the past month but I'm thankful for God's special gift to me. He loves me so much that he always is taking care of me. Hope that all of you are doing well! I hope to catch up with some of you over break and at least chat;)! I miss all of you!!!

Oh yea if you are in Greensboro I just recieved All County coach of the year and an article is coming out about it on tomorrow, Dec. 26th! Thank you all for your prayers with my team this year!! Such a great season with a wonderful group of girls! I'm so blessed!

I had to get some scriptures ready for this project we are doing for the football coach's familyat Mendenhall. His wife was diagnosed with bone cancer last may and kemo isn't working. They are giving her a bone marrow transplant. While she's gone families in the community are doing a makeover to their family room. FCA is in charge of Christmas ornaments with Scriptures and Christmas cards. So here is where God took me today! So encouraging!!!

WOW!! It Has been TOOOOOOO Long!

I should be fired from the blog world. I think I actually got the notice in the mail saying that I was fired:)! So sorry it's been so long! Can't promise if I'll even post after this one in the next 5 months. Such a slacker!! So let's try to catch people up!

Summer was great as always! Went to the beach, mission trip, and ATL shorty!! At the beginning of the summer I got hired to be the head volleyball coach of Grimsley High School. Fast forward....
Grimsley Volleyball season was amazing!! We won conference, conference tournament and beat Page twice:). Page is the school that I coach for before (4 years). I had an amazing opportunity to coach an amazing group of girls. It definitely was a blessing from God. No drama, great parents and we even went to the beach together. The season just ended a week ago and I'm having a problem already! I miss them, and coaching! No worries because JO's starts this week. I really had a great season with them and couldn't ask for a better group of girls. Of course I have pictures!!! But I'll save them all for last!
Next, hmmm! My 10 year reunion that was in October. It was a lot of fun. It was good to see old friends and of course people that are still my friends. It was a quick trip to Asheville but I definitely enjoyed it.

So that was the super fast version of my life for the past 5 months. Church is great! Moving on up!! We are currently building!! Praise the Lord! Most of all I have been blessed for the past 5 months. Life is good! Trying to keep moving forward. Oh I'm 29!!! Such a blessing from God! I'll try to do this a lot sooner than 5 months.

SPRING!!

So I'm actually due an update!! It's been long once again but this time of year is so busy. I know I say that all the time but it's true I promise!

Well, spring break on the cruise with Portia was so much fun! It was Paradise! When I think about it I want to go back so bad. We started our trip off in Orlando where we got to hang out with Portia's old college roommate, Amy and her family. She has two beautiful children that were a joy to be around. We got on the ship and were off to the Bahamas. I'm posting this at school so pictures will have to come in the next post. I promise I show you soon!

After Spring break was Mother's day! I went home and enjoyed spring break with my MOM! She's so cool! Man I wish I could tell my younger self how cool she really is and how close we would become. I went to a women's banquet with her at her church and entered my name into a raffle. It was grown up stuff like gardening tools and such. I saw the grand prize and turned to my Grandma and said I want to have a garden one day that is exactly what I need to get started huh? She looked and said, Oh yes!! So it was a wheel barrel, soil, a book on gardening, water hose, and all the tools for digging into the ground. It was awesome. Well I stayed awhile but Monica was in town and I had to meet her, so I left before the grand prize was drawn. Sure enough I get a phone call from my Mom about 10 min after I leave and I won all that stuff!! I was so excited!! So maybe there is a garden in my future! Also, Monica was in town! We had a blast hanging out and catching up! She's gone way too much and I guess I'll live, but know that you are missed when you are gone girl!

Next in life would be the EOG's at school. We just finished the last test today. I'm anxiously awaiting the scores. We should know next week. I hope they did well! They seemed very confident afterwards, we shall see.

So, I'm really looking forward to the school year being over and Summer coming. I'm going on the mission trip again this year and I'm really looking forward to that!

I guess that's about it! Marcus is good, church is busy and Ms. Polo is the same! Well hope to see some of y'all this summer!

March Madness!!!

So...I'm sorry people! It's been way too long. Well, life has been super busy of course. Travel volleyball just ended this weekend and the season was pretty cool. It was a lot longer than I realized. I enjoyed my ten girls and coaching with Jen.

Well school has been going well. FCA did an event for our school that was a great success. It was called "Challenge Day." It's a program that approaches bully's and troubled youth in a fun way. We started the day playing games and then started asking serious questions to get to the bottom of why we bully and treat others the way we do. It was such a success! I can't explain how cool it is to see the hardest kid in eighth grade get up and apologize to another kid for fighting them. It was life changing and I give all honor and glory to God for a great day.

I'm headed to the Bahamas on a cruise with Portia. I'm so excited!! I'm so ready for a break and of course a break in the Bahamas. Portia and I always have fun together. It is so awesome to have a friend from childhood that has been there through so many different stages of life. She's my sister in Christ! So glad God blessed me with her.

Well, that's pretty much all that's going on. The church is having this big event next weekend for Easter. It's going to be so cool! We are having a lot of eggs fall from a helicopter and landing in the Grasshopper stadium for one of the coolest Easter egg hunts ever! I wish I was a kid again! Well, it's going to be big and I will definitely take some pics. Mom, Dad, David and I are working the 3 on 3 basketball tourney at the event so my parents are coming up next week. 1. I secretly wish that I could sing. I used to pray for it every night :)! God said not your gift.
2. I absolutely love being a part of middle schoolers lives. They are really just trying to find themselves.
3. I love to sleep! Since I was little. My mom said I was the perfect baby!
4. I really miss my college friends. I miss the fellowship that we had! They really held me accountable spiritually!
5. I love the beach!
6. My brother and I are so close now! I love it!
7. I miss my Grandmother EVERYDAY!! I have to sometime remind myself that she's really not just 2 1/2 hrs away :(.

10. I am super busy with volleyball and sometimes fear how I will still be able to do it when I have a family.

Sorry it's been so long! The holiday season just flies by so quickly. I enjoyed every minute of my break so far. I can't believe I'm headed back to work on Monday. Back to the real world.
Can you believe it's 2009. It sometimes makes me sit in awe knowing that it's really been 10 years since high school. That I've been out of college for almost 6 years and that I have been teaching for 5 years. I'm very thankful for God's blessings. He really has blessed me with a very carefree life. I really appreciate my single life thus far. There were times I couldn't say that but I really appreciate the time I have had to serve him and not divide myself between him and a husband or a family. I'm thankful for my journey because it's mine!! Well I hope all of you had a great holiday and are ready for 2009 because it's here. Happy New Year Everyone!!

BTW, I went to go see Marley and Me and I booohooo!! It really made me appreciate my buddy Polo. As all of you know she's a riot but I love her to death. She's honestly a great friend who loves me inspite of. Sounds like God's love!! Thank you God for POLO!!

I love the holidays! Time with family and friends! Waking up and not knowing what day it really is and all the wonderful fun things that come with the holidays. I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving with your family and friends. I think it's time for me to update a little.

Last week I had a volleyball tourney and for once in a long time I wasn't coaching kinda...I was playing. It's only natural for a coach to always have a suggestion on how things can become better. So, of course I may have talked way too much during the tourney. It was fun to play but a lot different than playing with the guys. It was six man women's volleyball and I have been playing four man coed. volleyball. It was an adjustment to say the least. Our coed team plays this week and then the tourney is the following Monday. We are seeded 2nd place currently so we shall see.

After my tourney I went with Jen to see her sister play in her semifinals game. She played amazing. To be young again! I had such a great time with Jen, Na, and Kim!

Thanksgiving was amazing! I enjoyed my family so much. This year my parents came to Greensboro which was a huge change. We have been doing the same routine for as long as I have been alive and this year we did something different. It was a great change but we also missed seeing extended family. It was also hard realizing that this was the first Thanksgiving that we didn't have Grandmother Minnie with us. She was definitely shining down on us!

So I got a new camera and I'm enjoying it! It was a big purchase but I'm so happy with the outcome of my pictures. It's a Nikon D40 and it's a digital SLR. Well, we had a photo shoot using my camera so check our Thanksgiving photo shoot!!

Blessed With Another Birthday!!

I'm so thankful that I was able to spend my birthday with my family. My mom, dad, grandma, and cousin came down on Friday. We all went out to eat and celebrated the birthdays! David's is today! The day before my birthday was FCA and a volleyball game. FCA surprised me with a huge cake. So, at 7:45 in the morning we had birthday cake!! No complaints! At lunch my teammates provided the birthday lunch with cupcakes!! No complaints!! Then after school was my middle school teams game. They surprised me with a dozen roses and I bet you can't guess!!! Yes, CAKE!! It was a Ganache' cake! If' you aren't from or live in Greensboro I will tell you a little bit about Ganache' cakes. Simply delicious...it just a little taste of heaven. So I had plenty of cake before and during my birthday. I'm so blessed to say that I'm 28. That used to sound so old! I'm now understanding this age thing the older you get the more you really understand that age is just a number.

Middle School volleyball is going ok. There last game is next Monday and right after the game I will run tryouts for Junior Olympic team. Jen and I are coaching the 16's A team this year. So, there is no break for me!! It will definitely slow down but it won't stop! My first USA tournament is Nov. 22nd! I love playing too!! I'm excited about that. OH!! A big OH!! Marcus, Jen, Lock and I are playing in the Adult League together right now! We are doing well so far!! Our record is 7-3 thus far! We are enjoying it and so far not killed each other. Na...we are really having a lot of fun!!

It's been a Busy TIME!!

I have neglected my blog for awhile now! I'm so sorry! It's truly been a crazy couple of months. With volleyball and school my life is always busy around this time. About 2 weeks ago, my Grandmother went home to be with God. She was a incredible woman!! It's been a tough month watching her go through the pain of fighting cancer and just the emotions that came with her death. I can truly say that you can try to prepare for death but you are never ready. It's still a little surreal. I have moments were I get a little shook up thinking about the fact that she won't see me get married or hold my kids. The whole experience these past couple weeks was an amazing time with family and really cool to see God work through it all. Her funeral was a celebration and people's lives were changed at the same time. I'm honored to be an offspring of Minnie G. Robinson. I'm so thankful that she set a foundation in our family of love and most of all love for Christ. I pray that I accomplish some of the things she did in her life. If your grandparents are still with you make sure you visit, spend time, and cherish the moments. Life is too short to not appreciate the ones you have.

Mothers Day 2008

So, volleyball has kept me so busy! Page ball is coming to an end but it has been wonderful. We are currently 13-4 and 7-1 in our conference. The one team we lost to in the conference we will see this Tuesday so we are getting pumped. They have really been a blast to be around. They keep me young. Mendenhall volleyball just started last week, so I have a 2 weeks of overlapping. I had 61 girls tryout and kept 17. It's so hard to cut girls. It almost makes me cry to see a 12 yr. old feel like their world has ended because they didn't make the volleyball team. The middle school games start in a week so we have a lot of work to do. I'm excited about watching them grow though!

Also, my sister had her son this week, Chance Ervin!! He was 3 weeks early but a healthy boy. He was 5lbs 1 oz. and was born on the 1st. I haven't seen him yet but I'm trying to squeeze it in my busy life soon!

School has Started!

This week was the beginning of my 5th year teaching. It's been a great time learning and becoming better at what I do. I am still growing and hope to become the best teacher I can. I'm thinking about what's my next move. Grad school? National boards? What path will I take? I'm considering a lot of things but trying to seek God and see what he wants. I've also been extremely busy with the volleyball girls. We are starting to develop into team. They have a lot of potential and our conference season starts in a week. We are looking forward to it.

My parents and grandma were up this weekend. Of course it was a blast. Just laughing and playing games. There is nothing like family. Life is too short, enjoy the family you have and the time you get to spend with them. Well, I'm happy about my day off tomorrow. I have plenty of work to get done so that my babies can learn some math. I hope all of you are doing well and I will try to keep you updated on life as it goes. Much love to all!

P.S. I have lost 4lbs and most of all I feel better. Working out 6 days a week and with the busy life trying to eat right. Body for Life is definitely challenging me, 2 months to go!

Body For Life/ Page Volleyball

Tomorrow Aug. 4th will be the beginning of two things in my life. I'm really excited about where God's taking me!

First tomorrow I will start a three month commitment to a Body for life Challenge. You can go to the website to read about it (http://bodyforlife.com/). I have been reading the book for women and I'm truly convinced that it will work. Most of all I really want to be healthy, and feel good about myself. I just got really convicted about how I need to take care of my body, my temple. This journey is going to be hard but I'm up for it. Check out the website it will tell you all about it. I need your prayers and support! Keep me lifted up!

Also tomorrow at 8 a.m. volleyball season starts with a 4 hr. day of tryouts. I'm also excited about that and I'm looking forward to a winning season. The Varsity team is expected to be great this year! So tomorrow starts my busy time in life so I'll try and keep you all updated.

I've been a Slacker

I'm sorry It's taken me so long to update on the mission trip. I literally went from NY to Maryland for Teray's wedding. Then from Maryland to Greensboro to jump in Marcus's car to go to Asheville for him to preach at my parent church. It was a busy couple of days, but I'm thankful for all my safe travels.

The mission trip went so well. The kids were so sweet and receptive to Jesus. They were so cute! The culture is so different up there they all seem so much older than what they were. Sometimes you have to grow up fast because of different circumstances. I'm going to add a slide show of them in this post so that I won't have to cut any of the great pictures out.

While I was there I had the privilege of seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway. Thanks to Lisa for getting us yes, FREE tickets!! A couple of us got to go and see a great show. It was a treat! Of course NY had great shopping and food. If any of you are interested in this mission trip let me know. It's a great start to missions and you would love the kids and people that I go with.

Off to my next adventure was Teray's Wedding. She was such a beautiful bride. She did such a great job planning her wedding. When I say she did everything, I mean everything!!! She made the invites, she made the party favors, she planned the ceremony, and she showed up that day with a beautiful smile on her face. I enjoyed every preparation minute with her and the bridesmaids. I had to read scripture in the wedding (Genesis 2:18-24 and 1 Corinthians 13:1-3). It was a difficult task because it was right after she walked down the isle. She was beautiful and grinning and Elliot, the groom had a tear rolling down his face. Now try to read after that! Thank God I got it together. What a great wedding! I wish them all the best! I love you both!

Now I'm getting ready for my Mendenhall Volleyball Camp 2008 that will start on Monday. I have 2 others that are doing it with me and hopefully more for me this year. I'm working on just having the camp and not running the camp in the future. I have about 16 campers coming so we are excited. I'm going to miss Portia doing it with me this year. We could never set a date that worked for the both of us. We'll work it out for next year for sure girl!

Well I'm off on another adventure this weekend with Aaron Bentley, my old roommate in college. I'm headed to see her tomorrow and then we are going white water rafting on Saturday. These children are sooo precious. They all have a sweetness about them and just love to give hugs. We are having a ball learning about God, singing, playing and doing crafts. The theme for the entire week is becoming a hero. The activities are centered around sports so we have a cheer we do in the morning to get us warmed up. It goes like this....

Too much fun!! I'm enjoying them. It's interesting to walk through New York and see so many people. So many different people with different stories who are running somewhere!! They all are so focused and to themselves. On the subway usually about 90% of the people have a book, or Ipod. You usually see Mp3 players. But everyone focused on something. I hope these kids learn to put that much effort on focusing and keeping their eyes on Jesus. It really humbles me to make sure I run the race and keep my eyes on Jesus and not my personal goals and wishes. I challenge you guys to do the same! Chant the cheer if you need to. It's sometimes exactly what we need a childlike experience to get us focused. Well keep on praying for us up here. To be continued!!

So since the plane landed yesterday at 12:00 I have not stopped running. Right now it's Sunday night around 12:24 a.m. (I guess that is technically Monday). I go to camp tomorrow morning at 8 So I'm going to make this one quick. My mom and dad came up here too for a couple days and we are staying with my God brother Artie. Him and his girlfriend had a big shindig yesterday and we met so many people. It was a lot of fun and we got up this morning to go to church. We went to 1st Corinthians baptist church in Harlem and the service was great. Great teaching and of course it was cool to see how church differs up here. We then had a full day of visiting family that we have up here. My great-aunt Venus is in the hospital in Long Island so we went out there to see her and saw cousins I hadn't seen in years. Well of f to camp in the morning... I'm excited hopefully I will update you with pictures next time. I have plenty of them just to tired to put them on right now!! I promise I will though! Getting Ready for NY!!

So, I'm supposed to be washing, cleaning and packing for NY right now but this is so much more important :-)!! Updating you all on my life. This week has been so busy that I haven't had time to update on my trip to Asheville. I really enjoyed my time home. I had a great time seeing friends and family. Kiari was a hoot of course and I also got Cadiah my cousin's daughter that day to hang out. We went to see a movie, Chic-fila and then to the mall. Fun day with the girls.

I also got the chance to hang out with Julie and Trisha. It's so good to see old friends that will always be friends. We got to share and update each other on our lives. It's such a pleasure seeing you both!

This week I spent time doing some private tutoring, helping with interviews for our new vice principal and hang out with Marcus. Our vice principal at my school is moving on up and we are looking for a new vice principal. I got a chance to sit in on a couple interviews and help with the process. I really enjoyed it!! The last thing I have done this week is run around today and get my nails, toes, hair and eyebrows done before I'm headed out to the NY. I'm headed to a wedding right from NY so I had to get this stuff done now and not later. I went and got highlights and I'm very pleased! I always have these spontaneous ideas and thank God it wasn't cutting all my hair off this time. I like the highlights props to my hair dresser Harold.

So I'm headed to the NY on Saturday morning. I'm so ready to see what God is going to do this year. I plan to blog so stay tuned!! Lift us all up in your prayers. Thanks!!

Summer Vacation

Beaching it!!

It's been great so far!! I'm loving the time off and my vacations. I went to the beach last week and had a blast! Walks on the beach and Chrisette Michelle concert were all great times. I came home to a broken air condition. Not good!! I need you all to be praying about that because I don't want to pay the money they keep telling me. They are saying 1500 for a part then they are like it may be under warranty. I know God will provide whatever is needed. I'm waiting to hear from them for a final word today. I'm currently in Asheville enjoying some family and friends. I have plans to see and hang out with some friends and tonight I'm going to get my God daughter Kiari. Some of you remember her, she's all grown up and just finished kindergarten this year. I can't believe how fast time flies. I will post some pics so you guys can see what I'm talking about. She a trip and grown. When I talked to her I said what do you want to do? She was like "ummmmm I have to think about that, I'll get back to you." Well, hope all is well with you all!! I leave next week to go to NY!! I'm so excited!

Schools Out for Summer!!

Oh what a wonderful day it is when you see the kids you have taught for 180 days on the bus and all the teachers outside waving at their children saying "Goodbye"!! I might have screamed when I saw the last bus pull off. It is such a great feeling when you have another year done and a summer to reflect...LOL! In case any of you don't know, teachers need two months to recuperate from the 10 months of school. I can only imagine what life would be like to teach kids for longer than 10 months. Lets just say I would be visiting a therapist on the regular.

Anywho!! It's been a great year over all. I can't complain too much. They scored very well on the EOG's. I was very pleased with that. Thanks to all for your prayers! Every year I learn something new about my job, how to do things differently, and most of all God teaches me to trust him more. I am so honored to do this job, and I appreciates God's gifts he has given to me to make this job enjoyable.

The Adventures Team 2007-2008

Well, my summer officially starts on Friday. We are having teacher workdays until then. I will be going to the beach on MONDAY!! I'm so ready for that and am looking forward to a fun time!! I want to give a shot out to Teray and Monica...this time last year we were at the beach and girls I miss yall!!!!!!!! I'm sure the beach will not be the same without you.

I will be in touch throughout the summer filling you all in on what's going on in Tiana's world. I have my mission trip coming up in July and my volleyball camp toward the end of July. I'm excited about my time off and plan to get plenty of rest. Who knows what's next!!!

It's Time for an Update!!

Hey everyone! It's been a busy couple weeks. Getting these children ready for this test that they take tomorrow. We are as ready as we are going to be. I'm anxious and easily frustrated these days. Well, I need your prayers for my babies tomorrow. They will take a test that will determine if they know the 7th grade curriculum. I won't even start blogging about how I feel on the issue of one test making so much difference but please pray. Anything God can do prayer can do.

On a bright note. I went home for Mother's Day and spent a wonderful time with my mommy Gloria. She truly amazes me all the time. As you get older you appreciate and see the wisdom your mom carries in everyday situations. I know without a doubt that my mom is my hero! Mom Did you ever know that you're my HERO!!! And everything I liked to be!! I can fly higher than an eagle!! You are the wind beneath my wings!! I bet you all can hear me singing this so beautifully. She's amazing though and I love her lots!

Had a great time at the retreat this past weekend. The kids had a blast and most of all got closer to God and fellowshiped with each other. I had a fun getting to know the other huddle leader around NC and just fellowshiping and sharing ideas. I want to give you a glimpse of what we did so hopefully the video thing will work. The rents are coming to town, and my God bro Artie and his friend are going to be here. I'm always excited to see the family. We will all be going to a cook out for my church on Saturday. So I worked out tonight. I went to the gym and the volleyball league is up and running looking more exciting than ever and I didn't play :-(. I don't think I'm ready to play volleyball yet but maybe next week :-)! I did actually did the elliptical for 30 min and then watched some volleyball. I was sore a little but all and all I'm good! I iced it when I got home and I am doing fine. Thanks to all who continued to lift my ankle up to God. It's been a speedy recovery and I'm so thankful. So I'm back on this weight loss journey. I was going backwards for the past couple weeks but I'm working on something.
BTW be in prayer for the Mendenhall FCA group. We are going to our annual Middle School Retreat this weekend. I'm taking 12 teenagers to this retreat and they all are excited. I'm actually pumped too, I had a blast last year even as an adult. I'm praying for middle schoolers lives changing. Life will be so much easier if they get it this early...Think about it. It's Saturday afternoon and I'm finishing up a day of relaxing and visiting some co-workers who just had babies. They were so cute and gave me a little bit of baby fever. Just made me wonder what will mine look like. Will they be so cute and want to sleep like me :-)!! Who knows!

Well, we are rounding third base right now headed home with school. We just started the 4th quarter and I'm trying to get these kids ready for the NC EOG. I'm honestly a little nervous but I'm praying. I have a busy summer planned already. I'm going to a couple of workshops and going on my Mission trip again. I'm so excited. From the mission trip I'm headed to Maryland for Teray's Wedding. She asked me to read scripture at her wedding. I'm so honored!! So I had to go buy a new ticket to NY because Skybus went out of business. What a bummer for that company.

I wanted you all to know that my ankle is doing well and I'm walking along with just my own two feet. No crutches, no boot but I do have a brace that I wear. I'm considering the gym or some volleyball next week. Marcus say's wait but I'm going crazy over here. Well I'm going to go and hang out with some friends from work. Just wanted to post cause I was sitting here! Love yall!!

Passover holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case
against Christians, Jews & observances of their holy days. The argument
was it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized day(s).

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate
presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, 'Case
dismissed.'

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, 'Your honor,
how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas,
Easter & others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur & Hanukkah. Yet my
client & all other atheists have no such holidays.'

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, 'But you do. Your client,
counsel, is woefully ignorant.'

The lawyer said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or
holiday for atheists.'

The judge said, 'The calendar says April 1st is 'April Fools Day.' Psalm
14:1 states 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the
opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he
is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.

Priceless Moments

I went home for Easter and had a great time with the family. Mom, Grandma, and I went shopping at the Outlets in Gaffany, SC. It was so much fun. The funniest part is that I was in a wheel chair and mom and Grandma pushed me. I sprained my ankle pretty bad about 2 weeks ago and I am in a boot. It was kinda embarrassing to be pushed by your almost 80 yr old grandmother. She's a hoot though. We all spent some money, shopped, and laughed the entire day. This time was something you could never put a price tag on. A day full of laughter, and quality time between 3 generations. I love both of these women so much and I pray I can one day look in the mirror and see them in who I am as a women, mother, and grandmother. You both mean the world to me and I love you so very much. Let's do it again very soon!

So I have lost 9.8 lbs so close to the 10 lb mark that I have been claiming it. I'm working out, playing some volleyball, and trying to eat well. I am loving playing some competitive volleyball. Here is a picture of some of my team. Jen has recently joined. Only 8 weeks after having a child!! I'm proud to know her! I'm playing in Asheville in march so hopefully I'll see some of you all when I come home. Monica is coming to the Boro!! SHH!! It's a secret though. I'm pumped. I just want you all to know that I'm aunt T to one of the cutest babies in the world. I just might eat her. Naomi Faith is so cute and she's so good. I tell Jen all the time that I just might steal her. She will make you want to have a kid but I do know the reality of it all goes way beyond her cute adorable face. Check out her pic!

What a great day in history! To remember a great man who fought for so many things that I benefit from today. I'm so thankful for the vision God gave him and the endurance he gave him to get it done.

I just committed to going on the mission trip again. I'm so excited because I learned so much last year and I'm sure there is more to come. If any of you are interested let me know. I lost 2lbs this week...So we are getting there. 6lbs down and 14 to go!! I'm excited!

This week I had laser eye surgery and it was amazing. Just the reality of being able to see without the assistance of glasses and contacts. Everything went well, and I was well taken care of by my mom of course. I can see 20/20 now and it's great!

I'm doing good so far this year with the postings!! Hope I can keep it up!! Love yall!

WOOOSH!! I should honestly be ashamed of myself. I'm sure I'm in bloggers jail or something. Sorry to all that I've slacked so much but life just get's the best of you sometimes. Life is good these days...nothing has really changed. I went on a cruise for Christmas and got to spend sometime with Monica. Here is a quick overview of that. The first night I get there I'm singing Christmas Carols by a tree on a moving ship in an Elf suit, introducing myself to about 300 passenger completely on the spot, and trying to keep some teenagers from jumping each other the first night but waiting to sneak off with their cruise love later on in the trip. Needless to say that trip was truely an adventure to say the least. Some I could tell you all and some I will go to my grave never revealing to anyone...LOL!! Well I came back to a flooded house due to my neighbors hot water heater. Everythings good though! I'm just blessed to have a house!

2008 started off great in Asheville with the fam and Marcus. We just hung out and had a really chilled New Years!! I'm so excited about 2008!! I am anticipating big things!! I know you guys are like how big!! Just know God tells me big!! LOL! I'm honestly humbled by his love!

Our city is doing a 28 day fast and it already has been incredible. I am giving up tv during the week for the 28 days and man it's caused me to chill out and just hang out with GOD. It's also help me be very creative on what can be entertaining. I'm learning a lot and I'm excited about the rest of the time. Check it out if you are interested www.28dayfast.org.

I'm sorry it's been so long life of course is going so fast. I can't believe it is already the middle of October. I have a birthday coming up and for once in I want to say ever I'm not ready for the bday. It just feels like years become a blur and I wonder where did the time go. There are so many things left to do in life and I 27 came so quick. It sometimes scares me! Well Happy Birthday to all the October birthdays! Lets see I will name them. Mom, Monica, Sharon, Emily, my Bro, and some people from the past...Catie Ashburn, Bynae Haupt, Allison Barkley, and my soul buddy Corey. Corey and I went to camp together for years and realized we had the same bday and were 20 min apart. We hung out in the nursery together our first hours of life! Thank God for 27 years! Can't wait to see where he'll take me in the next 27!!!

It's finally the first weekend I've had in over a month. A breather from the rush of life. Last weekend I had the honor to attend a amazing guy's life celebration. He was a kid that was in my class at the summer camps at Estes. He was an amazing kid back then and had grown into a very determined young man that fought a brain tumor and still attended NC State University. God had a big reason to take him early and I know I was blessed to even know him.

My volleyball team is doing well. We are 7-3 and they are playing pretty well. I'm having a blast with them. Some great news is that I had 70 people show up to the first FCA meeting. Yes 70 middle school kids wanting to learn about GOD!! I'm so excited about where God's taking this group. I can't wait to share with yall.

Busy Times!!

Well my life has been crazy busy that's why the blog has been a little neglected! Thanks Emily for reminding me to get on it!! LOL! Well, last weekend I got to go see my Atlanta family! It was a blast! Mom and I got to go shopping with Bebe and just relax and catch up. We went to Atlantic Station this newer part of ATL that you can just walk around shop, eat and hang out. We also went to church at North Point where Pastor Andy Stanely is the pastor. It was great! Just the experience of the church and of course the awesome word. He talked about how important it is for us to do things to build our character (our insides). He talked about how our character and keeping in tact effects so many different areas in our life. How we all need to be held accountable and have some people in our lives we can be real with. It really hit me hard. It made me miss my college crew. I really do miss yall! I miss our bible studies and our cute Prayer Tree! I didn't appreciate that bond we had as much then but I pray for that connection now with people. My mom and Bebe have been friends for years. They would probably kill me if I tried to put a number up because that would give too much information(LOL)!! but years!! They are the defenition of friends and I pray that I'm still connected with my friends like they are when I become their age.

Well, th busiest part of life right now is VOLLEYBALL! It started this past monday so we are trying to get them ready for our season. We have our first scrimmage this upcoming friday. They look great, they already have a lot of chemistry and seem to understand their roles on and off the court. They have some shoes to fill because my last years team was 15-5 first winning season in 6 years. So, we are hoping that they will do the same or better. I really love doing this and just being around the girls. They all are at that point in life where things are very interesting. I listen and give advice and that's cool cause God's definitely using me. Please put them and every teenager on your prayer list! You would be amazed. Here is a pic of some of us going out to eat.

That brings me to my spiritual change. I joined a life group at church on prayer and honestly at the first meeting I realized how much I don't pray. Man prayer should be instant when things come up but unfortunatly it's down the list. I learned that deals with my faith. I am enjoying the challenge that this life group has already gave me. I'm excited about what God's doing in my life and why he's placed me in this class. So I also challenge you all to pray more and if you run out of things to pray for, pray for me again!! LOL! Oh here is a pic of jen so cute with her belly! I went with her to Baby's R US to scan some stuff! I got to use the gun!! LOL!

There's No Place Like Home

As soon as I got back from NY we decided to go to Asheville to get away and relax. It was everything we hoped it would be. There is nothing like going home and just feeling at peace and so anxious to just sit. We didn't do a thing in Asheville except eat and it was great. I always seem to say something negative about Asheville but it's all in fun. Honestly, it's a blessing to have a place like that you can get away to. Parents are coming to town this weekend just to get away too. It's funny how sometimes it's so peaceful to get away. Thank God for the ville!

Man leaving the NYC was definitely bitter sweet. I didn't want to leave the kids or the city but I had to get back to the reality of life. Man I learned so much about me and God. I thank God so much for the opportunity and the experience. I thank God for being in NYC at the right time in my life and speaking to me through so many people in so many different ways. I left renewed and thankful. Her are some pictures of the last day with the kids and our last night out with the crew.

We had a fiesta with the kids on the last day and they were so excited. Unfourtunately not everyone showed up on the last day b/c it was Friday and they had went to the zoo the afternoon before. The workers said that it wasn't unusual for Fridays. I encourage you all to come with me next year. It was a great time and I can't wait to see everyone again. Thanks for the prayers again!

I am having a great time guys! On Monday when we got to the Taft Housing there was another group there so we decided to go in the mornings. We have been going to the Taft Housing from 9-12. We are doing something similar to a vacation bible school with kids that live in the housing. They are so cute and so appreciative of just a smile and hug. They are so excited about the songs and games even at 9 in the morning. I have been seeking God on what my mission is here, you know. I unfortunately haven't been seeking him enough. I really have one of the workers their heaving on my heart. We hit it off from day one. She's 18 and her name is Maria. She is going to be a senior this upcoming year and I'm really trying to encourage her to go to college. She of course if scared of leaving home and her family. Please pray for me to find guidance in what I'm supposed to be in her life. Overall things are going really smoothly. Today me and another girl named Michelle had the kids in two shifts and man I can tell you all that I definitely am not ready to have children. Those little ones were all over the place. yeah I'm in charge of the recreational part. Using games to teach the lesson they learned and man they can't focus more than like 25 seconds. It's truly amazing to me. We eventually started playing duck duck goose because the older were taking a long time. I tip my hat to the elementary teachers our there and the pre-school. I will put you all on my prayer list.

On the sight seeing part I have enjoyed seeing all the sites the NY has to offer. I went to were the Twin Towers were and that was honestly humbeling. There definitely is a presence there. I call it a peace. God's love is amazing! That is what I felt down there. Time Square is exactly how it looks on the TV. It's so cool to see though. I think i'm going to do a photolink once I get back, but for now here are a couple.

NYC TIME

Well it's been my first 24 hrs. in the NYC and man it already feels like 3 or 4 days. I promise you NYC is on it's own schedule. It truly is the place that never sleeps. I have been fortunate enough to already hang out with friends and family. I saw Anita a college friend for lunch yesterday at the famous Sylvia's Restaurant. It's a soul food restaurant in Harlem. We had a great time chatting and eating some great food. It was great to see her and we plan to hook up again this week. Then last night I had the privilege to hang out with my brother and his adorable girlfriend. It was such a blessing to be around family of course and feel at home even though I'm so far away from it. I really enjoyed finally meeting Lian and seeing how God honestly has been working in my brother Artie's life. I love you both!

Artie and Lian took me to the SoHo area and we had dinner at this really unique restaurant. They had the most interesting bathrooms. Check out the picture. I was that tourist who went back to the bathroom to take a picture LOL!! They then took me to the Murder Inc. studio.

Today my missions crew got up and went to church in Brooklyn. It was about an hour ride on the subway. The subway went under the water at one point. In Brooklyn we came out of the subway and in one direction there is the headquarters of a very powerful Jewish leader. So, you saw people headed to temple.Then on the other side of the street, where I was headed, is the area in NY where the Jamaicans live. Simnple seperated by a street. We went to a very small church where it reminded me of my church in Asheville. It was so cool to see the different style of service than I'm used to now at Hungry. God reminded me today that he is a common bond that links us all together. On the way back from church we explored a little bit and got to see Madison Square Gardens. I got some great pictures of a typical day in NYC.

I am preparing tonight for the kids tomorrow, I am anxious to see what God's going to do this week. I may get to see Terrel later on tonight...by the way he's engaged!! I'm so happy for him. Well, Please keep the prayers rolling!

Family on the 4th!!

I had to privilege to spend time with both sides of the family today. We started off at my Mother's mom who is such a joy to be around. She has so much spunk that you just are entertained by watching and listening. Her spirit is so amazing, if I tried to put it into words it would be a bright light of sunshine right after it rained. She just amazes me how much she cares for everyone! Even POLO!!! I hope I am half the women she is one day. We then went to my cousin's house where my Dad's side of the family was hanging out. This is the side of the family that I grew up with. We went to church together, and then ate Sunday dinners together every Sunday. Now all the grandchildren are old now producing great-grandchildren. It was so cool to see the little ones running around acting like kids and playing just how we used to play back in the day. I must say they have a little bit more freedom than we did back then. That was a discussion among the cousins, LOL! We were told to stay in the back room when we were little and to stay out of Grown folks conversation. Oh how times have changed!! We all got to sit down as a family and watch a home video of the fourth of July 6 years ago. It was so funny!! Memories are definitely priceless!! At the end of the night we gathered together and sang a quick verse of a simply song "Thank you Lord" requested by my 87 year old grandmother. She then led us in a prayer thanking God for us just being able to gather together as a family. She prayed for all of our separate homes and she said a special prayer for my mission trip. Oh what joy it is to get the chance to hang out with the people who know you best. I think it's good to get the chance to look back at where you have been just to understand where God is taking you. A friend loveth at all times

Today was a hard day at first. I had to say "see you soon" instead of goodbye to a great friend. God honestly is so amazing to take the time and place people in our lives for a reason and sometimes for a season. His plan is so perfect and he is so detailed in knowing what we need and when we need it. Teray has been my confidant for the past year. We have taken many journey's together from her hometown of Maryland to our latest vacation to the beach. We invested time in our friendship with no hesitation and sought God on life's challenges together. I am sad to see her go, but so happy for her new adventures. This blog is to thank God for taking the time to allow our paths to cross and the blessing of such a beautiful friendship. As you grow up you learn to appreciate people in your life like Teray cause they really are few and far between. Girl I love you and miss you already!

Hey friends and family...So I decided to blog because I don't get to talk to everyone too much. Currently, I have just started my summer and so far so good. I just finish an incredible beach trip with some great friends and the next adventure is going to be my mission trip to Harlem, NY. I will definitely write during that week. This week I'm getting ready for my volleyball camp that will be held on Thursday. I'm excited about this blogging thing. We shall see how it goes. I miss all of my friends and family that are reading this. I pray for you daily! Love yall!
